First day back to school

Prestyn went back to school on Monday September 7th and it didn't take him long to get back in the groove. I had to again carry him out kicking and screaming because he did not want to leave. He Stayed in the same class he was last year since we wanted Prestyn to have his preschool graduation before he went into Kindergarten and since he has to wait an extra year because of his birthday this was the best choice. It was so nice though since 3 other boys from his class from last year stayed behind for the same reason. Prestyn loves his teacher miss Angie and has so much fun while he is there. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful program for him to interact with other children in a loving and educational environment. Prestyn will leave more than ready for kindergarten.

Happy 2nd Birthday Prestyn

I am still unsure where all the time went! I cant believe it has been 2 years since brought home our handsome baby boy. Our lives have been so blessed to have him here with us and he becomes more and more like his mommy everyday (help us)!!!! Prestyn is such a determined little boy and nothing stops him from trying to accomplish what he has set out to do! He loves his books and school, his favorite things to play with is anything but his own toys and everything in someway manages to be turned into drums. He loves music and dancing and cuddling with his mamma. His favorite shows are blues clues and fresh beat band. He loves animals and for some reason his animal of choice to imitate is a cat! He can be so dang stubborn and wants to control the situation and not be controlled we find our selves on a daily basis trying to compromise on what we will allow him to do and what he cant do! This does not always go over since Prestyn does not like to hear no. Although his party is not until the 17th Kevin, Prestyn and I celebrated at home alone I made a cake which I then forgot the candles and we sang Happy Birthday to him while he loved every bit of the attention he was getting. We had a gift for him as well for him to open which lasted maybe 2 days before it got pushed to the side and he has not touched it since! I am hopeing that he will soon start playing with his toys and leave our things (my kitchen and bathroom) alone! Wishful thinking I think, but well see!

Weekend Getaway

Since we did not get to go on our summer trip we needed a get away and Dallas was just the ticket. A few months ago the mall opened up an entertainment center that has a sea life aquarium and a Legoland discovery center. It was so much fun although it's not the Legoland amusement park you are thinking of, but it had a ton of fun things to do in a small environment that allowed plenty of fun and enjoyment for adults and children alike. Kevin and I as well as Prestyn had such a good time Prestyn loved the rides especially the one that lifted us up in the air and spun us around, but he loved the 4-d movie if you have not yet experienced one do so! I'm not sure which was more entertaining the movie or Prestyn trying to touch the objects he saw in his face :) Once we finished we had lunch Prestyn rode the carousal and we walked through the mall while Prestyn passed out. It was exactly what we all were needing and decided that we need more of these not only as a nice break in our boring lives, but to be able to enjoy our family while having fun and making memories. I am already trying to find something fun to do for our next trip!

Aesop Fables @ the Shakespeare Festival

Today for play group we drove to Kilgore to attend the Shakespeare festival for the Aesop Fables it was soooo good and made me want to see the other plays they have going on. Originally I though it would only be a 1 hr show, but ended up being 1 1/2 hrs long which for Prestyn was too long. He made it almost the full hour and then after that we ended up in the hall watching it on the screen. Prestyn though was having too much fun playing with the little baby that was out in the hall to. She was 9 mos old and the two of them kept growling at one another it was really funny. Will defiantly be attending it again next year and highly recommend finding out if it shows in your area and attend!!!! It was super cheap only $7 a seat and if your child sits on your lap you only pay for your seat.

Regretfully we do not make it to Play group as often right now, but enjoy the times when we do. Prestyn had a lot of fun and loving the water even though it was super hot outside.

We have been enjoying the pool at the gym lately since there is no public ones around. It is so nice to have and Prestyn loves the baby pool they have there since its only 2ft deep and he can walk along the floor. He is doing so well with it he is now kicking his hands and feet and I am teaching him how to walk along the side of the wall with his hands. He still does very well with being dunked under water and his favorite thing is to jump off the ledge into the water! I have decided this year to not do floaties since one we are in the baby pool and I am in there with him, but two I am trying to get him to know how to correct himself and lift his head above water if he looses balance he is doing so well with this and has not yet panicked! of course I am still assisting him, but not before giving him the chance to do so himself! I would love to find someone in this area who teaches the classes Kristy put Bordie in 2 summers ago. Until then I will try to do a little of it myself.

Our little chef!

This was so funny when I stumbled across him. While I was cleaning the house and in the other room I could hear Prestyn on the kitchen, hearing the noise of my pans is not uncommon since he plays with them all the time except this time it was different. Of course Prestyn must copy everything he sees so why not cooking. He had got into the candy jar and pulled out some nerds and placed them in the pan and pretended to cook or in his mind he was! He could not have been anymore proud of himself and since he was not harming anything I let him continue and he did so for about 20 mins until dumping them all over the stove! Lets just hope that he does not figure out how to turn on a burner!

Cars 2

Though I would take Prestyn to the movies a few weeks ago to see cars 2 thinking he may enjoy it well he did really well the first 45 min and then he wanted to run up the isle's so we left since he started yelling when I tried to get him to sit! So needless to say we will be waiting a little while before we attempt that again.

4th of July

For once this year Kevin was actually in town during a holiday so we took advantage of it and enjoyed a trip put for the 4th of July celebration being held by the city of Gilmer at the high school. We were worried that it would be really congested and we would not be able to find a place to park, but we lucked out we parked in the student parking lot and was so close to the fireworks it was really cool we just camped out in the back of the truck with our camping chairs. Prior to the fireworks starting they had airplanes flying over head and played music over the loud speaker as well as famous US history speech's by Presidents. It was so nice Prestyn loved the fireworks he sat still threw the whole 20 mins they were going off. He continued to just say "wow" it was too cute!
