So as most have heard by now a week ago Friday I started experiencing difficulty closing my eye. I at first though it was due to my face wash getting into my eye that morning, but then discovered Saturday morning on my way to the eye doctor that it was much more serious than that. I was told that I had Bell's Palsy, I have lost all ability to control the muscles on the left side of my face. I saw a neither doctor on Wed and again not much more information was able to be given. Their is no reason to why it happened or how long it will take to go away. He feels though because of my age I should recover from this completely, but is unsure of how long that may be. He did raise the dosage on my steroids though thinking that I would benefit from it. Again nothing is a guarantee though. I am unable to close my left eye or move the left side of my mouth. Eating and drinking has become significantly more difficult as is anything that I try to do with my mouth. I am experiencing a lot of light sensitivity and watery eyes. Which I would have to say is the most irritating of it all. I am though as of today experiencing muscle pain in that side of my face from the lack of movement. I am just hoping this is over with soon. I am hanging in there though still have my bad moments, but for the most part just trying to endure on and not let it stop me from doing anything.
