Snow day from Hell

So I'm normally very excited about snow, but I had a change of heart! Yesterday we received about 16", to start my morning off at 5am we lost power. Not only was it a inconvenience, but it was also very traumatizing for Prestyn as well. Can you imagine 5 mos old not being able to watch your shows in the morning :). Yes heaven forbid he was not able to watch TV, to put it nicely he was one angry child. So since their was no power, no heat, and nothing I could do and unprepared I had to do the one thing I did not want to do, Leave the house. I got both of us ready headed out the door and up the street to walmart to my surprise (not) they were out of everything not one propane heater in the store even all the regular ones were gone. I also was trying to find a power source to run some heaters off of, nothing. So to Lowe's we go again to my surprise nothing. I did find a converter that I bought and hooked up to the car battery to run one heater and the laptop for Prestyn it seemed as if it was going to work until I realized after 2 hrs of having to idle the car I could not run the converter with out the car on. I will say though I have never seen a happier baby the moment the computer turned on and a movie showed up he was laughing smiling and bouncing in his bouncer like a crazy nut!!!! Had to be one of the funniest things Ive ever seen until the laptop shut off when I turned the car off and then the water works started again. I ended up buying a generator and running the fridge a few heaters and of course the TV and satellite for Prestyn. That generator gave me 7 hrs of a happy baby since he had his TV back again. Thank goodness the power was restored about 8 pm so we didn't have to worry about heat or anything else. Cant tell you how close I was to going to a hotel! Man I don't know how Dana, and Kristy or anyone else deals with this on a more often basis and way more snow then this. NOT FOR ME!!!!!
